Jolly good effort by Mr W. Biddick on Back On Line (8/1). Two out victory looked a distinct possibility but the mare was done for toe off the home bend to finish a creditable third behind Old Benny and Over The Creek. Ms P. Grundy was hard at work on Here's Johnny (16/1) with a full circuit to run. The horse was making progress from behind but weakened two out to come in twelfth, the last of the twenty starters to finish the course.
Albertas Run (4/1) jumped well under a fine McCoy ride to win the Royal & SunAlliance.
Tamarinbleu (7/2) put in a disappointing effort in the Champion Chase, racing up with the pace but, after a mistake at the seventh, was never in contention. Master Minded jumped superbly for one so young and looks right out of the top drawer, beating last year's champion Voy Por Ustedes by an incredible nineteen lengths.
100/30 favourite The Listener was never going quite as well as you'd have liked and had no answer to the the spring heeled Our Vic, finishing twelve and a half lengths behind in fifth.
Inglis Drever (11/8f) claimed his third World Hurdle and will probably be retired now.
In the bumper Corskeagh Royale was available at 12/1 in the morning but was sent off at 7/1 - the Nina Carberry mount finished a creditable second to Willie Mullins' 12/1 shot Cousin Vinny.
