Late returning from an extended summer vacation, I'm still some way off full race fitness.
Nonetheless I'm going to take a chance and a small each-way interest in Kitty Foyle in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (2.20 Cheltenham); seven of the 19 declared race from out of the handicap, although I note booked claimer Robbie David's lowest riding weight in the past 12 months is 10-00.
Second behind Sunray Shadow (now rated 129) off her current mark in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon in May, Daisy Hitchins' mare finished third behind American Sniper at Newton Abbot towards the end of August and will likely appreciate the step back up in trip here.
She won a Goodwood handicap on soft ground in August 2024 so if the forecast rain arrives, I'd like to think she could handle underfoot conditions.
In a Straight from the Stable article (RP Weekender 18-22.03.26) the trainer said of her bargain basement buy:
"She's a brilliant mare to have and was great value at £5,000 after she'd lost her way. We've really turned her form around and she hasn't looked back. She'd have to be my trainer's pick as I think she's going to progress well when she carries on over longer distances."
Kitty Foyle is the each-way selection, 28/1 generally, with most layers paying five places.
