However he slowed dramatically on the run-in allowing Windsor Avenue to mount his challenge and claim an unlikely victory by thee and a quarter lengths with Cap Du Nord (15/2) a further 16 lengths adrift in third.

Selection Hill Sixteen (28/1) claimed a prominent pitch behind the early leaders but laboured at a number of the obstacles and quickly went backwards, looking distinctly like a another lost cause at the rear of the field with a mile or so to run.

With Craig Nichol pushing for all he was worth, Hill Sixteen started to respond to the urgings; he stayed on through beaten horses into fourth spot, three and a half lengths behind Cap Du Nord.

The race was marred by the fatal injury Midnight Shadow suffered after a mistake at the seventh fence.

TW's each-way play Spiritofthegames was well backed at Cheltenham, eventually going off a 7/1 chance; he finished a creditable third behind Torn And Frayed (5/1jf).

Unfortunately Magic Saint (8/1) was more Tommy Cooper than David Blaine, racing in rear and then failing to pick up in the home straight - he finished a sixth. Tempted by Sky's offer - stake returned (to maximum £10) if horse finishes second, third, fourth or fifth.

Good luck!

GeeDeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09834633278297488704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25292190.post-36050643213634457962022-01-29T07:53:05.821+00:002022-01-29T07:53:05.821+00:00Sky Bet Handicap Chase

I'm hoping he'll pass most of the field coming up the hill and take one of the 4 places Coral are offering at odds of 12/1 [1/5 odds]

Good luck!

TW

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
